A liquid crystal display is provided to grant an alignment direction to liquid crystal particles arranged in the center of each domain by forming a fringe field in the center of the domain by cut patterns when the liquid crystal particles are aligned to a plurality of domains, thereby improving response speed of the liquid crystal particles. A liquid crystal display has gate lines(10). Data lines(20) cross the gate lines and also is insulated from the gate lines. Pixel electrodes(40) are connected with transistors(30) formed at cross points of the gate lines and the data lines. Common electrodes are arranged oppositely to the pixel electrodes, with liquid crystal interposed between the pixel electrodes and the common electrodes. First common electrode cut patterns(50) are formed on the gate lines along with the gate lines. |
