A light emitting display device and a driving method thereof are provided to extend the lifespan of the display device by selectively driving top and bottom light emitting units using switches which are connected to the top and bottom light emitting units. A light emitting display device includes a substrate, a pixel circuit, and a switching unit. The pixel circuit, which is formed on the substrate, includes top and bottom light emitting units(Top,Bottom) electrically connected to two or more electrodes. The switching unit is electrically connected to the top and bottom light emitting units, and inputs high and low signals to the top and bottom light emitting units. The switching unit includes first to fourth switches(SW1,SW2,SW3,SW4), each of which is connected to a cathode of the top and bottom light emitting units.
