A transmitter is included in a mobile communication network. The transmitter (B) is configured to transmit to a receiver a data channel (602) and a first control channel (600) controlling data transmissions on the data channel, and to transmit on the first control channel an indicator (610) indicating that there is data transmission to the receiver on the data channel. The transmitter is also configured to omit data transmission on the data channel.
