A direct-view-type display apparatus is provided to prevent the deterioration of picture quality, to maintain a periodicity with which pixels are arrayed on the entire picture screen and to reduce manufacturing cost by simplifying assembly work. A direct-view-type display apparatus includes a plurality of display elements, a plurality of drive circuits(6), and a plurality of circuit substrates(5). The plurality of display elements are arranged on a single transparent substrate(1). The plurality of display elements include a plurality of signal electrodes and a plurality of scan electrodes. The plurality of drive circuits are formed corresponding to the plurality of display elements. The plurality of drive circuits are mounted on a plurality of circuit boards. The plurality of drive circuits supply signals to the signal electrodes and the scan electrodes of the drive circuits.
