It is possible to simplify the procedure until a normally-connected session is established with a server device after completing a device registration. When a direct access management server receives a direct access start request for a controllable device from a control device via a service server, the direct access management server transmits a direct access URI acquisition request to the controllable device. The controllable device transmits a direct access port NAT setting request to a router. If a global IP address and a port number acquisition error are reported from the router, the controllable device transmits an error code instructing a novel remote recording reservation by tunneling to the direct access management server. Upon reception of the error code, the direct access management server assigns a tunneling port to the server, creates a direct access URI from the port information and the like, and transmits it to the control device via the service server.
