An elevator control device has a means for calculating the number of passengers intending to enter an elevator car, the number being calculated as a value of the planned number of passengers entering the car, the calculation being made based on information from an ID information verification device for reading ID information of a passenger and determining whether the ID information can be authenticated; a means for detecting the number of passengers having entered the car, the number being detected as a value of the number of passengers having entered the car; a determination means for determining whether the value of the planned number of passengers and the value of the number of passengers having entered the car match; and a operation management means for controlling operation of the elevator based on information from the determination means.
