A treadmill and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to achieve desired exercising objective reliably by changing a parameter only within a range originally set up by the user. A treadmill includes a track belt(111), a range setting up portion and a control portion. The track belt rotates on an endless track. The range setting up portion sets up the allowing range of the parameter of the treadmill. The control portion controls the parameter to be within the allowing range set up by the range setting up portion. The parameter is one or more of the moving speed of the track belt, the inclination of the track belt and the number of pulsation of user's heart. The range setting up portion includes buttons and a display portion.
