A hinge device for a portable terminal is provided to perform a rotation operation by semi-automatic operation when a cover of the portable terminal is opened and enable a user to stop the cover in a desired angle when the cover is closed, thereby enabling the user to bend the cover in a desired angle. A hinge device for a portable terminal comprises the followings: a housing(30) which is fixed to one side of a first body(10) and a second body(20) and in which an acceptance space is formed in the inside; a first cam(40) which is accepted not to rotate in the housing; a second cam(50) which is accepted to rotate in the housing for generating a predetermined brake power by connecting the first cam; a first elastic member for pushing the first cam to the second cam side; a third cam(70) having a connection axis which is connected to one of the first body and the second body; and a second elastic member for pushing the third cam to the second cam side.
