It is intended to present a novel means of analyzing and correcting gene expression amount to thereby elevate the accuracy in the standardization of gene expression amount. Namely, a method for the standardization of gene expression amount which comprises measuring a repeated sequence occurring at an almost constant rate in the genome contained in a specimen, thus counting cells in the specimen, and employing the cell count as an indication for standardizing a gene expression amount obtained from the same specimen. For example, a DNA sample 33 and an RNA sample 34 are obtained from a single specimen 32. The DNA sample 33 is used as a sample for studying the cell count, while the RNA sample 34 is used as a sample for studying the gene expression amount. Thus, the cell count and the gene expression amount in the same specimen 32 can be understood. By converting the gene expression amount into the value per a definite number of cells, therefore, it can be standardized into a value which can be compared with another gene expression amount.
|
