An LCD device and a driving method thereof are provided to ensure high quality when images are played slowly by storing data, which is converted in a frame rate, using a video recorder. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a liquid crystal panel(100), gate and data drivers(60,70), a timing controller(40), a frame rate converter(10), and a video recorder(50). The gate and data drivers drive gate and data lines of the liquid crystal panel, respectively. The timing controller controls the gate and data driver and supplies image data signals to the data driver. The frame rate converter converts a frame frequency of an image data input from outside into N times frame frequency and supplies the converted frame frequency to the timing controller. The video recorder stores frame data with the converted frame frequency.
