An image composition device in which an image input section imports a video signal representing an image of an object and outputs corresponding image data to an expression characteristics extraction section. An expression extraction section extracts characteristics data representing face expression included in the image data. A following processing section reads out object data from an object storage section, applies following processing, according to the characteristics data, to the read object data, and supplies the image data that are treated with the following processing to an expression composition section. The expression composition section combines one of the supplied image data, which one is, for example, character data, and the image data and then outputs image data representing a combined image.
