A body composition analyzer and a method thereof are provided to analyze a fat amount according to parts by quantitatively calculating the fat amount among body components using impedance for each part. A body composition analyzer includes a first insulator(20), a second insulator(30), a linear power supply unit(13), and a switching power source supply unit(17). The first insulator(20) detects body impedances according to parts. The second insulator(30) detects the amount of body fat from an output of the first insulator(20). The liner power supply unit(13) supplies a power source to the first insulator(20). The switching power source supply unit(17) supplies a power source to the second insulator(30). The calculation processor calculates the amount of weight and fat to be removed of each part using the body impedance information by parts from the first insulator(20). The calculation processor subtracts the amount of fat to be removed of each part from the weight of each to obtain a body fat amount of each.
