A computer system and a control method thereof are provided to improve usability of the computer system including a main frame and a docking station by selecting a proper video performance according to a use environment. The first video processor(103) is embedded in the main frame(100a) and outputs the first video data. The second video processor(109) is embedded in the docking station(100b) and outputs the second video data different from the first video data. A CPU(101) selectively outputs the first or second video data to a display part(106) depending on connection between the main frame and the docking station. If the main frame is not connected to the docking station, the CPU outputs the first video data to the display part. If the main frame is connected to the docking station, the CPU outputs the second video data to the display part. A user input part(107) receives selection between the main frame and the docking station from a user.
