<p>A method and an apparatus for handling mobile communication power are provided to judge whether a power-saving function is favorable to a UE(User Equipment) and to restrict or suppress the usage of a power-saving function if it is judged that the power-saving function is not favorable to the UE. If a UE sets up an RRC(Radio Resource Control) connection and a connection with a CN(Core Network)(S50), the CN sends a direct transfer message containing an authentication request message or an identity request message to the UE through an RNC(Radio Network Controller)(S52). The RNC transmits the received message to the UE in a downlink direct transfer method(S54). The UE transmits an authentication response message or an identity response message in an uplink direct transfer method, including an IMEI(International Mobile station Equipment Identity)/IMEISV(IMEI Software Version number)(S56). The RNC decodes the response message transmitted from the UE. Based on its internal lookup table and the IMEI/IMEISV, the RNC judges whether it is necessary for the UE to use a power-saving function(S58).</p> |
