#CMT# #/CMT# Two standard front fork arms (1) have their top ends rigidly connected to each other via a double tie plate (2) and are connected to the motorcycle frame via a ball joint (3). A rigid pin (4) on the bottom side of the fork extends through the hollow front wheel axle (5) and is connected to it via a ball joint (6). The ends of the pin are fixed to the supports (8) for two fixed linear guides via two connecting pieces (9). The guide paths (10) for these guides are fixed to the motorcycle frame. The guides extend parallel to the front wheel steering axis. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# A suspension for the front wheel of a motorcycle is described. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# Horizontal length and cross-direction forces are transmitted directly from the front wheel to the motorcycle frame via the linear guides, and vertical forces are transmitted via the forks, whilst ensuring stable steering. Transmission of these forces along two sides of the front wheel provides a suspension with a more simple, lighter and cheaper construction, allowing any type of front wheel fork arm to be sued.
