PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cell in which a three-phase interface of an air electrode catalyst layer is stably maintained and has an excellent heavy-load discharging property and preservation property. SOLUTION: The catalyst layer is formed by mixing an oxygen reducing catalyst, a co-catalyst having a disintegration property of a product by an oxygen reduction and a conductive carbon and binder, and the catalyst layer is press-bonded with a collector and a water-repellant membrane to compose the air electrode to be used in the air cell.
