PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and an imaging method having a wide dynamic range and high resolution. SOLUTION: After amplifying NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) signal (55) received by an RF coil 42, this magnetic resonance imaging apparatus distributes it into two systems. In one system, amplification (56), phase detection (31) and A/D conversion (11) are performed. In the other system, direct phase detection (32) and A/D conversion (12) are performed.
