PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact relay type finder optical system capable of reducing ghost light made incident on a relay optical system and viewed by an observer so as to make an image easy-to-view. SOLUTION: The relay type finder optical system 20 has: a reflection means to reflect luminous flux from a primary image by two or more times and emit it; the relay optical system 24 disposed on the emitting side of the reflection means so as to form a secondary image by the formation of the primary image; and an eyepiece optical system 26 to observe the secondary image. The reflection means comprises a first reflection surface 21a, a second reflection surface 22a and a third reflection surface 23a in order from the primary image side, and the first reflection surface and the second reflection surface are disposed in non-parallel with each other.
