PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of disassembling an optical fiber core by which coarsely wound strings for preventing the dropout of optical fibers from slot grooves are surely cut and the optical fibers are easily removed together with a wrapping tape. SOLUTION: The disassembling method of the optical cable core is for disassembling the optical cable core in which optical fibers 4 are stored in the grooves of a grooved slot 2 of which the outer periphery is wrapped by the coarsely wound strings 5 and the wrapping tape 6. The method includes: a first step in which notches 8 are intermittently made on the wrapping tape 6 along the longitudinal direction of the optical cable core and the coarsely wound strings 5 are partially cut; and a second step in which a continuous notch 9 is provided on the wrapping tape 6 along the longitudinal direction of the optical cable core. Further, the length of the intermittent notches 8 in the first step is shorter than the tape width of the wrapping tape 6, thus the coarsely wound strings 5 are surely cut.
