<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for estimating a position of an object part within a digital image using feature quantity analysis. <P>SOLUTION: This method concerned in one embodiment accesses the digital image data expressing an area including the object part of the digital image, accesses a reference data including a class data of a class as to a prescribed position of the object part within a prescribed area, and a feature for identifying the class, calculates a feature quantity as to the feature within the area, using a pixel value within a range of the area, and determines a position estimation value of the object part, using the feature quantity and the reference data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
