PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller fixing unit and a recording device which can eliminate impacts, when passing a thick sheet of paper, without lowering the flexibility in designing the pressure mechanism and without making it large. SOLUTION: In order to prevent impacts from increasing, when passing a thick sheet of paper, without changing the conditions required for the pressure mechanism, the center distance is increased between the roller shafts when passing a thick sheet of paper.
