PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which is excellent in solubility and the like, and is suitable for producing lesion-selective liposome contrast media, and to provide a chelate compound comprising the compound and a metal ion. SOLUTION: A compound represented by the general formula (I) [R is a hydrocarbon group containing a structure represented by the general formula (II) as a partial structure; L is a divalent bonding group; Ch is a chelate-forming portion containing three or more nitrogen atoms]. A chelate compound comprises the compound and a metal ion. A liposome contains the chelate compound as a membrane-constituting ingredient.
