PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing paper winding device capable of increasing a respondable winding diameter by controlling a winding speed according to the passing time corresponding to a position of a tension roller at a tension area when the winding diameter especially becomes large. SOLUTION: The printing paper winding device measures a first passing time T1 when the tension roller is passed through a first tension area and a second passing time T2 when it is passed through a second tension area, and controls it so as to stop winding operation of the printing paper by a winding shaft at the time when the tension roller reaches to a third tension area (S4) when a time difference of the first passing time T1 and the second passing time T2 is a predetermined setting time difference Ts or more (S3).
