Filter aid and liquid from compartment 2 are withdrawn by a pump 10 and supplied along a pipe 11 to a filter (not shown) until all filter aid is exhausted from compartment 2. Thereafter, at intervals, liquid is passed back from pipe 11 via a valve 13 to a compartment 3 to entrain further filter aid in liquid, the resulting suspension overflowing through an opening 17 into compartment 2, and being entrained by pump 10. The filter being supplied may be that in a dry-cleaning machine. A control device 14 for the valve 13 may be incorporated in the automatic circuit of the machine so that a predetermined quantity of filtering agent may be supplied for each charge.</p> |
