The system has an access gateway connected with a source enhanced node over/through a general packet radio service (GPRS)-tunnel protocol-user level tunnel. A target enhanced node is connected with the access gateway through another GPRS-tunnel protocol-user level tunnel. One of the tunnels is set up between the target node and the gateway, and the other tunnel is released, when a serving radio network subsystem (SRNS) relocation is implemented. A wireless transmission/receipt unit (WTRU) is connected with the source and target nodes by a wireless interface.
