An impact absorbing mounting for a truck cab has the front mounting brackets (28) fitted to the chassis (22) by energy absorbing clamps (50) which suffer inelastic deformation in a collision. The cab is pushed rearwards with its mountings in a collision. The design replaces bulky conventional energy absorbing systems which require tensile ties. The impact energy is directly taken up by the new mountings.
