<p>A disposable diaper comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent coredisposed between the topsheet and backsheet. The topsheet and backsheet definea periphery and longitudinal edges, portions of the longitudinal edges defineleg openings when the diaper is worn. The diaper has a discrete edge band joinedto the longitudinal edges at least at the portions defining leg openings whenthe diaper is worn. An apparatus for affixing a discrete edge band onto a portionof a longitudinal edge of a continuous web and methods for affixing discrete edgeband onto a predetermined portion of a longitudinal edge of a continuous web arealso provided.</p> |
