This invention relates to a vehicle seat mounting device (1) comprising a first component (2) for attachment to a vehicle and a second component (3) for attachment to a vehicle seat. The device further comprises a means (4) for connecting the first and second components to each other such that the first component and the second component are adjustable relative to each other by pivoting the first component and the second component relative to each other around a substantially vertical geometrical pivot axis (5). At least one of said first and second components comprises a first unit (10) and a second unit (11) which are displaceable relative to each other in a direction (30) parallel to a substantially horizontal plane, and a means (12) for damping a relative displacement motion of the first and second units (10, 11) in said direction so as to reduce horizontal vibrations in the vehicle seat when the device is installed for use in the vehicle.
