<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the hitting of the top of a ball in a non-banker area without impairing explosion property in a banker. <P>SOLUTION: This iron golf club head 1 includes a face for hitting a ball, a back face 3 in the opposite side thereof, and a sole face 4 connecting an interval between the face and the back face 3 in a head bottom side; and the sole face 4 includes a first area Y extending in the toe/heel direction and having a bounce.
