<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device in which life-prolongation can be promoted, and which can be manufactured easily, and provide a projector installed with this light source device. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 70 is provided with a light source lamp 71, an oval reflector 72 that irradiates the light flux emitted from the light source lamp 71 to a fixed direction, and a collimating lens 74 that parallelizes the light flux reflected by the oval reflector 72.
