PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite electronic component that can improve the static electricity protecting function, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The composite electronic component includes an inductor 13 formed of a plurality of first insulating layers 11 and a coil conductor 12 provided to the plurality of first insulating layers 11, a second insulating layer 14 provided at the upper part of the inductor 13, a ground electrode 15 provided on the upper surface of the second insulating layer 14, and an internal electrode 16 provided on the upper surface of the second insulating layer 14 at intervals constant to the ground electrode 15 and connected respectively to both ends of the coil conductor 12. In this composite electronic component, a resistance material 19, having properties that depend on voltage is provided over the second insulating layer 14, ground electrode 15, and internal electrode 16, covering at least a part of the front end 16a of the internal electrode 16 and the ground electrode 15.
