PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which performs printing on a printing medium supplied from a paper supply device and can facilitate a selecting operation of the paper supply device on a host device when printing is requested. SOLUTION: This printer determines the paper supply device based on paper supply device selection information for designating the paper supply device to be used involved in received print data and performs the printing on a printing medium supplied from the determined paper supply device. The printer comprises a table of correlation information for correlating the paper supply device selection information with the paper supply device attached to the printer, a change reception means for receiving designation of changing the table of correlation information by a user, and an updating means for updating the table of correlation information based on the designation of the changing received by the change reception means.
