PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamp device which can clamp plate members 1a, 1b with a uniform force along a butting line. SOLUTION: The clamp device has: a horizontally supported frame 10; a parallel crank mechanism 20 consisting of four links 22, 24, 26, 28 forming respective sides of a parallelogram, and having one of the links 22 fixed to the frame 10; a clamp block 30 mounted on the link 24 that is movable in parallel with the one link 22; and a drive unit 40 for moving the link 24 on which the clamp block 30 is mounted in parallel with the one link 22. Then the clamp block 30 is divided into a plurality of divisions in a longitudinal direction of the frame 10, and the drive unit 40 is set up by a plurality of piston-cylinder units corresponding to the plurality of divisions of the clamp block 30. Thus pressure fluid is fed via a header 46 having ports communicating with cylinders 42 of the piston-cylinder units, respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
