PHOTON PAIR GENERATOR

A photon pair generator generating a correlated photon pair by hyper parametric scattering in which generation efficiency of correlated photon pair can be enhanced furthermore. A quantum well (4) is provided in a resonator (2). Incident light irradiated from a light source (6) to the resonator (2) resonates in the resonator (2) to bring about a specific resonator mode. The generation efficiency of correlated photon pair by hyper parametric scattering in the quantum well (4) is enhanced by providing the quantum well (4) at a position where the electric field strength of light is raised by the resonator mode.
