<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system, capable of suppressing deterioration of a fuel cell even in a state of a part of a membrane constituting the fuel cell unusable for power generation. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system comprises the fuel cell including the membrane, and an anode electrode and a cathode electrode provided with this film between, in which when reaction gases are supplied to the anode electrode and the cathode electrode, respectively, these reaction gases are mutually reacted through the membrane to generate electricity; an MEA (membrane electrode assembly) power generation effective area calculation means 44 calculating an area usable for power generation of the surface of the membrane as a power generation effective area; and an upper limit power generation current calculation means 45 and a current controller 35 for limiting the power generation quantity of the fuel cell based on the power generation valid area calculated by the calculation means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
