PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow upgrading processing or the like to be easily performed when desired by a user.

SOLUTION: A recording medium 6 comprises: a fundamental data part 51 wherein data capable of being reproduced without keys are recorded; an additional data part 52 wherein data which cannot be reproduced without a key and are reproduced together with data recorded in the fundamental data part to provide images of high image quality and sounds of high tone quality are recorded; and an incidental data part 53 wherein data which cannot be reproduced without keys and relates to artists and jackets are recorded. Keys for reproducing data recorded in the additional data part 52 and the incidental data part 53 respectively are provided on a prescribed condition, for example, by payment of a prescribed amount of charge.
