<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coding apparatus capable of performing a high-speed coding processing, comparatively in inexpensive manner. <P>SOLUTION: The coding apparatus 2 distributes symbols (intermediate codes) generated by a single source coder to a plurality of entropy coders (Huffman coder A and a Huffman coder B) and the entropy coders apply entropy coding to the symbols in parallel. Thus, high-speed coding processing is realized. Furthermore, in comparison with a parallel configuration of the whole coding apparatus including the source coders and the entropy coders, the cost required for the source coder can be reduced in the coding apparatus 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
