PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage control device that keeps the operation of a storage control system from being impaired by the addition of a new storage area to a pool corresponding to an AOU volume. SOLUTION: The storage control device includes a logic volume accessible by a host: one or a plurality of physical volumes associated with the logic volume and constituting the storage area of the logic volume; a control table indicating the correspondence between the logic volume and the pool and the correspondence between the pool and the physical volume; and an attribute table defining the attributes of the physical volume contained in the pool.
