PASSIVE TREATMENT APPARATUS OF ACID MINE DRAINAGE

An apparatus for treating acid mine drainage through natural purification is provided to control water level of the acid mine drainage within a processing bath and realize a flushing effect by a limestone layer installed within the processing bath. A bath(20) is disposed on a discharge path of acid mine drainage. A limestone layer(24) and an organic material layer are sequentially deposited within the bath. A discharging pipe(30) has one side connected to a lower portion of the limestone layer. The discharging pipe discharges acid mine drainage passing through the organic material layer and the limestone layer. A manhole(40) has one side communicating with the other side of the discharging pipe to receive the discharged acid mine drainage. The manhole(40) discharges the acid mine drainage through an outlet(42) installed at the other side thereof. A floodgate(50) is installed across front and rear faces of the manhole, wherein the height of the floodgate is controllable.
