<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new alcohol metabolism promoter originated from a corbicula claw, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a food or drink containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the alcohol metabolism promoter comprises adding and boiling water to the edible portions of the corbicula claw to thermally extract the edible portions, filtering, thermally concentrating the obtained filtrate at the atmospheric pressure, and then supplying the concentration product to a spray drier to obtain the dried corbicula extract powder. The alcohol metabolism promoter (tablet, capsule, granule, powder, solution, suspension or the like) contains the extract.
