<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for specifying a position of an object part within a digital image. <P>SOLUTION: This method concerned in one embodiment accesses the digital image data containing the object part, acquires an initial position estimated value of the object part position of the object part, extracts a sub-image window in the periphery of the initial position estimated value of the object part position, calculates a feature value, based on a pixel value within the sub-image window, and determines the updated position estimation value of the object part, based on the calculated feature value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
