PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube hardly causing degradation of color purity by enhancing curved surface retention strength of a shadow mask to reduce landing displacement of an electron beam. SOLUTION: The curvature radius Rk(h) of a curved surface at a point in the vicinity of a horizontal axis end of a porous part 71 of the shadow mask 7 with electron beam passing holes formed therein, the curvature radius Rk(v) of the curved surface at a point in the vicinity of a vertical end, the curvature radius Rk(d) of the curved surface at a point in the vicinity of a diagonal axis end, and the curvature radius Rk(c) of the curved surface at the center satisfy Rk(c)>Rk(h), Rk(c)>Rk(v), and Rk(c)>Rk(d), and the difference between Rk(v) and Rk(d) is not greater than 700 mm. In this case, the curvature radius of the curved surface of the porous part is calculated from Rk<SP>2</SP>=Rk×Ry by using the curvature radius Ry of a curved line in the Y-axis direction of the porous part and the curvature radius Rx of a curved line in the X-axis direction thereof.
