PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved method, apparatus, and storage medium for controlling a track seek servo in a disk drive, suppressing rapid current change and thereby shortening the calculation time required to generate a velocity trajectory, and the disk drive using the same. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the disk drive comprises the steps of: generating a transformed PTOS (Proximate-Time Optimal Servo) velocity trajectory in which an acceleration duration is symmetrical to a deceleration duration in a track seek mode; and applying the transformed PTOS velocity trajectory to the control of the movement of a head.
