PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel which prevents an afterimage after switching off power. SOLUTION: A signal generation means 22 generates a signal when a voltage drop detection means 20 detects a voltage drop upon switching off the power. On the basis of this signal, an initialization means 23 brings each of a common electrode, a storage capacitor, and a signal line into the same potential, and also a capacitor 66 keeps electric charges of the common electrode and the storage capacitor for a predetermined period. The afterimage after power off can be prevented by forming a half-tone display state in the liquid crystal layer by a potential difference formed between the electric charges held by a liquid crystal capacitor and the storage capacitor of each pixel and a signal line.
