PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new workpiece feeding device and workpiece feeding method for a continuous heat treatment facility by which a long-shaped workpiece can satisfactorily and surely be fed into the continuous type heat treatment facility side. SOLUTION: A trough-state hopper 21 is arranged so as to be freely turnable at the upper part of a conveying belt V making flow in order into the continuous type heat-treatment facility S, and after lining up the workpieces W in the longitudinal direction of the hopper 21 by dropping down the long-shaped workpieces W into the hopper 21, the workpieces W in the hopper 21 are transferred to the conveying belt V by turning over this hopper 21 to feed the workpiece into the continuous type heat treatment facility S. In this way, since the workpieces are conveyed by feeding into the conveying belt V side under state of automatically lining-up, the long-shaped workpiece can satisfactorily and surely be fed into the continuous heat treatment facility S side.
