摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device for a railroad vehicle which can safely operate even if an elastic body of a coupling is damaged, and which does not impart the damage to an axle either. SOLUTION: The driving device for the railroad vehicle is provided with flared parts 16b, 17b in the rotational peripheral direction at the coupling arm 16a side of a main motor side and a coupling arm 17a side of the axle side, and a predetermined gap in the rotational peripheral direction is formed between both flare parts 16b, 17b. The predetermined gap dimension is set to be larger than the maximum deflection value in the peripheral direction in operating of the elastic body 15. and the gap dimension in the radial direction between the inner peripheral surface of the main motor shaft 10 and the outer peripheral surface of the axle is set to be a smaller value. Since the movement of the coupling arm in the rotational peripheral direction in the operation when the elastic body 15 is damaged is limited by the mutual contacting of the flared parts 16b, 17b to suppress the generation of the rotational vibration, and it is the constitution to prevent the main motor shaft 10 from contacting to the axle 5, safety and ride quality can be ensured.
