PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a person in charge from embezzling vouchers without using machinery dedicated to a gift voucher. SOLUTION: The bank note handling system is provided with: a control terminal CT looking like a POS register; and a bank note processor CD looking like a bank note and change machine. A control unit U2 of the bank note processor CD is communication-connected to a control unit U1 of the control terminal CT. The control unit U2 is composed so that it can start a gift voucher processing mode on the basis of a mode switch command transmitted from the control terminal CT. In the gift voucher processing mode, the bank note processor CD carries gift vouchers introduced by an introduction part A with a transfer means T and performs a gift voucher processing so as to store the gift vouchers in a subsidiary storage part for storing gift vouchers, for example, an output money reject part F.
