PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismically reinforcing structure which is implemented by a earthquake resistant construction arranged outside an existing construction, dispenses with execution of reinforcing work inside the existing construction and new erection of a support pile for supporting the existing construction, and achieves seismic reinforcement of the existing construction without additional provision of support piles each having a large cross section or a number of support piles, for the earthquake resistant construction. SOLUTION: According to the seismically reinforcing structure, a pair of the earthquake resistant constructions 22, 24 are constructed on both sides of the existing construction 20, on foundations 30, 36 different from the foundation of the existing construction 20. The earthquake resistant constructions 22, 24 and the existing construction 20 are connected to each other via joint portions 38, respectively. Therefore if a horizontal force F caused by an earthquake or the like is applied to the existing construction 20, a pullout force P<SB>3</SB>occurring at an edge of the existing construction 20 and a squeezing force T<SB>4</SB>occurring at an edge of the earthquake resistant construction 22 are transmitted via the joint portion to compensate for each other, and therefore the forces can be reduced.
