PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve working efficiency and safety in joining a closed cross section column to another member such as a beam. SOLUTION: The closed cross section column 1 is constituted to arrange heads 7 of joining bolts 4 for joining the beam 20, inside a column body 2 having a closed cross section, and to project bolt parts 8 of the joining bolts 4 outward from bolt insertion holes 6 of an end plate 5 mounted to the lower end opening of the column body 2. Holding members 10 are provided inside the column body 2 to hold the heads 7 of joining bolts 4 while allowing the tip deflection of the bolt parts 8 of the joining bolts 4.
