PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine which has an action for improving glucose tolerance ability decrease appeared in type II diabetes and an action for lowering triglycerides in blood, and is effective as an agent for preventing/treating glucose tolerance ability lesion, type II diabetes, hyperlipemia, metabolic syndrome, visceral fat obesity, fatty liver or non-alcoholic fatty hepatitis. SOLUTION: A compound having a xanthin oxidase-inhibiting action, such as 1-(3-cyano-4-neopentyloxyphenyl)pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid having an action for improving glucose tolerance ability decrease appeared in type II diabetes and an action for lowering triglycerides in blood can be used as an agent for preventing/treating glucose tolerance ability lesion, type II diabetes, hyperlipemia, metabolic syndrome, visceral fat obesity, fatty liver or non-alcoholic fatty hepatitis.
